In the process of in vitro fertilization, after undergoing examination, ovulation promotion, and egg retrieval, we will face a new problem: whether to raise a sac or not, and what is raising a sac? On the third day, an embryo is called a blastomere embryo, which consists of 8 cells. If it continues to be cultured until the 5th to 6th day, it will become a blastocyst. The process of embryo cultivation is called blastocyst culture. Blastocyst is the highest stage that can be reached by human in vitro embryo cultivation.

About us(图1)

In its natural state, human embryos are implanted into the mother's body in the form of blastocysts. Usually, the endometrium is implanted around the 20th to 24th day of menstruation, and the blastocyst happens to be around the 6th day. Therefore, the development of the blastocyst and the maternal endometrium is more synchronized, and the implantation rate is also higher. During the process of blastocyst cultivation, some embryos with chromosomal and genetic abnormalities will be eliminated due to their own developmental limitations, and embryos that can develop to blastocysts have better developmental potential. That is to say, embryos with poor quality and developmental potential will be self eliminated and development will stagnate, while better embryos will continue to develop into the blastocyst stage. Blastocyst culture can select embryos with greater developmental potential and has the function of screening high-quality embryos. Blastocysts also reduce the incidence of multiple pregnancies to a certain extent. Due to the high planting rate of blastocysts, single blastocyst transplantation is generally recommended. Single blastocyst transplantation can reduce the incidence of twin and multiple pregnancies, avoid the risk of multiple pregnancies to the mother and baby, and avoid the risk of later pregnancy reduction.

However, it does not necessarily mean that all embryos that develop blastocysts can be successfully implanted and delivered alive. Studies have found that even embryos that have reached the blastocyst stage still have chromosomal or genetic abnormalities.

Of course, there are also certain risks associated with raising bags. The cultivation of blastocysts requires high quality of embryos. For patients with a small number of embryos and poor quality, it is highly likely that the embryos will be completely destroyed before reaching the blastocyst stage.

In summary, during the process of in vitro fertilization, we will face many problems, such as whether to perform embryo transfer or blastocyst transfer. This means that when facing the question of whether to keep a cyst, we need to make reasonable choices based on our own situation and the advice of the attending doctor. Only in this way can we make the most beneficial decision for the patient.
