1、 Cause of testicular tuberculosis

It is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, mainly caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, bloodstream invasion, and reproductive system infection. It is a common male tuberculosis infection and specific infection. It is recommended to give priority to systemic anti-tuberculosis treatment, and if necessary, auxiliary surgical treatment can be used. Testicular tuberculosis is mainly a direct spread of epididymal tuberculosis, which usually occurs near the epididymis and has tuberculosis characteristics such as cheese like transformation, cavity formation, and fibrosis. This disease is often the late manifestation of epididymal tuberculosis. Pain and discomfort in the scrotum, occasional bloody semen, decreased semen, fever, scrotal pain, swelling, severe cases of scrotal skin ulceration with yellow fine pus and cheese like substances.

2、 Can testicular tuberculosis still reproduce?

Testicular tuberculosis has a certain impact on fertility, because during the onset of the disease, testicular tuberculosis can damage the testicular spermatogenic function, leading to a decrease in sperm quality. After treatment for testicular tuberculosis, it is necessary to go to the hospital for routine semen examination to check the quality of sperm. And if it is severe, it may lead to direct infertility. If testicular tuberculosis is treated as early as possible in the early stage of the disease, that is, in the exudative stage, and actively and regularly cooperate with anti-tuberculosis treatment, there will be no calcification, induration, ulcers, abscesses, etc., This will not affect fertility. But if the treatment is delayed and advanced lesions such as multiple sclerosis have already appeared, surgical resection is necessary, which can affect fertility.

3、 Can testicular tuberculosis be cured?

Early epididymal tuberculosis can be cured through medication. If the local tuberculosis necrosis is severe, involving the male testicles, the lesion is large and forms an abscess, or the drug treatment effect is not obvious, epididymectomy is feasible. If a male's testicles have lesions near the epididymis, they can be partially removed together with the epididymis. Male balls should be preserved as much as possible during the surgical process. After epididymectomy, male comrades' seminal vesicles and prostate tuberculosis can gradually heal. Testicular tuberculosis belongs to male genital tuberculosis, rarely occurring alone, often coexisting with epididymal tuberculosis, and may also be accompanied by tuberculosis in other parts of the body. The first treatment is the systemic application of anti tuberculosis drugs. The commonly used regimen is isoniazid plus rifampicin plus ethambutol or pyrazinamide plus streptomycin for 2 months, followed by isoniazid plus rifampicin for 4 months, with a total course of treatment typically lasting 6 months. Secondly, surgical treatment is necessary. If the epididymis is severely affected, the epididymis can be removed and the testicles should be preserved as much as possible.

Although testicular tuberculosis may sound terrifying, it is not an incurable disease. As long as treated in a timely and appropriate manner with medication, it can be completely cured and retain reproductive ability. But it should also be noted that if testicular tuberculosis is not treated for a long time after it occurs, it will inevitably damage the testicular capacity, and ultimately only the testicles can be removed, even posing a threat to life safety!
